“Joining BMHC (and HTFL2/1) has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time. My day job has me glued to a desk all day, so having something that gets me moving, competing, and actually looking forward to the week has been huge. It’s not just exercise, it’s an outlet.

I actually dropped fast pitch baseball and kickball the same week I joined, which probably says everything. Hockey just hits different. It’s faster, more engaging, and way more fun, even when I’m gasping for air halfway through a shift cause going slow is boring lol.

But the biggest thing for me has been the people. The friendships I’ve built here genuinely mean a lot to me. There’s a rare mix of competitiveness and laid-back energy that makes it easy to connect with everyone, whether it’s on the ice or just hanging around after games. It’s one of those groups where you can show up not knowing many people and pretty quickly feel like you’ve been part of it for years. I never got that with kickball or baseball out here.

To top things off.. The league itself is run incredibly well, and you can tell there’s real care behind it. From organization to communication to just the overall vibe, it’s clear the people running it actually care and that makes a difference.

At the end of the day, it’s more than just a league for me. It’s a break from the daily grind, a place to compete, and a community that’s genuinely fun to be part of. Side bonus to top everything off.. I don’t have to go to the gym anymore, get all the workout I could ask for on the ice! #hockeyislife!”
