Skills & Drills

Skills & Drills is designed for everyone from beginners stepping onto the ice for the first time to experienced players looking to sharpen their game. No matter your skill level, our goal is to help you become a more confident, capable, and well-rounded hockey player in a fun and supportive environment.

Each session typically features three skill-focused stations. At

  • Station 1, our skating instructor focuses on the fundamentals of skating, including edge work, stopping, acceleration, turning, balance, and overall comfort on the ice. Developing strong skating fundamentals is the foundation for everything else you do in hockey.
  • Station 2 focuses on hockey positioning and awareness, helping players understand where to be and what to do on the ice. Through a variety of positioning and situational drills, players learn how to read the play, support their teammates, create space, and become more effective both offensively and defensively.
  • Station 3, we work on passing, shooting, puck skills, and other essential hockey fundamentals. These drills are designed to improve individual skills while also teaching players how those skills translate into real game situations.

We are also excited to offer our Goalie Clinic, led by a professional goalie coach. This progressive program is specifically designed for goaltenders and focuses on developing the skills, positioning, movement, and confidence needed to become a better tendy. Whether you’re new to the position or looking to take your goaltending to the next level, the clinic provides focused instruction in a supportive environment.

And sometimes, there’s no better way to finish a Skills & Drills session than by putting everything into action with a full-ice scrimmage! It’s an opportunity to compete, have fun, and apply the skills you’ve worked on throughout the session.

Ultimately, Skills & Drills is about building better hockey players and better teammates. The program is designed to help prepare players for our leagues while continuing to develop their individual abilities, hockey IQ, confidence, and team skills. Come out, work hard, learn something new, and most importantly — have fun playing hockey!
